Mia aka Asia PDF Print E-mail

Mia aka Asia

Hey Julie & Frankie

Just wanted to drop you a line to say hi and to give you an update on Mia.
She has been such a joy to have. She makes me laugh all the time. She has such the personality too.  She traveled to Indiana with me a few weeks ago and she did awesome.  She does well on the leash, and of course she is potty trained!! That didn't take long to get her trained. She isn't in the crate anymore. I left her in the house for the first time alone while I went to work, and again she did well. All in all, she is  doing wonderful and she is a happy dog! Thank you again for giving me the chance with her.

Hope all is well for you and your family and fur babies.

Metta

Julie

Thank you very much for the insurance policy. It is great you all do that!
We are getting a long with her so well!!! She is doing great. Each day we get a little closer to being potty trained, she is learning her commands quickly and seems to be very at home with us. She is such a blessing and we love her so much already.  We decided to change her name. We are calling her Metta because as you know Sean's parents raise labs and mine aussie's -and Sean and I both speak Spanish pretty fluently - so we thought 1/2 in Spanish is la mitad - and Metta is a prettier version of that. So Metta it is.

Thank you Julie
Take care
Michelle & Sean

It has surely been a long time since I have talked to you! This is Amanda DeVeau, we adopted Batley from you about one year ago! I just thought that I would send you some pictures of our handsome boy who is doing great! He now has a sister named Peyton to keep him busy with all of that energy and he loves her to death! He has soo much patience with her and they get along great!

Hope all is well!

Fiona PDF Print E-mail

Hi Amy ~ Just wanted to let you know that Fiona is doing just great! She is the most playful cat we have ever seen! She loves her cat toys and never runs out of energy. She has been a great addition to our family. Ashtyn is especially enjoying her. They are each other's favorite. Thanks for taking such good care of her for us. We are so glad we have her. We hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

Luna PDF Print E-mail

Amy,

I wanted to give you an update on Luna, now known as Suzie.

She has settled in well here at the Smith house. She did not like being locked up in the bathroom the day we brought her home, so she's was let out to mingle w/the others.  A slight altercatation w/the dog that nite, but other wise she likes our boy cat & the other 2 girl cats are typical girl cats, always hissing, she just kinda looks at them & doesn't know what the problem is. She loves to run at top speed thru the house, sounds like a heard of elephants on the stairs, & knows when feeding time is.

However, we have created a cat monster! we have a screened in back porch that they can go out on when it's nice out.  the past few days it's been nice, & they've been able to go out. now, she wants on the porch all the time!  she's picked out which pet bed she likes, but prefers the human bed.  & she gets to watch the birds & squirrels out the kitchen windows.

Friday is the yearly wellness visit so we all go at the same time.

Scott tells me that Tux would not have anything to do with any of the other cats.  Until Madonna.  He is in love!!!!  Jax is in love too.  They apparently fight on who is going to sleep next to her.

Maddie Now Sassy PDF Print E-mail

I hope you and your family (and the dogs) have been doing well. I think of you often and the hard work you do to save the best dogs in the world. Sassy (Maddie) is the queen of 410 Indigo Drive. Mike is so in love with her. Finding her was truly a gift from God – which makes you one of God’s helpers. Mike lost his job in March and Sassy has certainly been good company for him through this very difficult time. He takes her for walks almost daily and they truly love each other.

Attached are some pictures of “Queen” Sassy on her throne!

He sleeps good and dreams during the night, its pretty funny. He is about 45 pounds now and still growing. And finally all potty trained. Its been a lot of work but he is worth it.

Thanks again!

Mario- Now Doby PDF Print E-mail

  Update on Mario-Nov 2009

Just wanted to share some updated photos of Mario (now Doby). He's a wonderful puppy! He loves his toys and playing a game my kids have dubbed "Shark" where they hide under a blanket and he pounces on them, digging them out. He also is very good at hide-and-seek and the cup mixing game (we hide a treat under one cup, mix them up and have him find it). He's a fun little guy!
Thank you for him... He is loved.

Zeke aka George PDF Print E-mail

Zeke is fabulous!!!! We LOVE him. He sleeps through the night with no crying(until he's ready to go out, both mornings about 7 - 7:30). He hangs out in his crate when he needs to with no crying. He plays by himself in our mudroom when we are in the kitchen. We play with him a lot both inside and out so he needs a lot of puppy rest. We walked all three dogs down by the pond today. He walks great on a leash and we started teaching him "heel" today. I think he is going to be very smart and learn fast. Paul's brother and family just love him(they have a black lab)Zeke is a very happy and very loved puppy!!

BTW - I don't know if Zeke was just born to be a great puppy or if you did a lot of training with him but we've been giving you praises for doing so good. We are amazed at how well behaved he is. You're a good foster family........Thank you!

Janet aka Sandy PDF Print E-mail

I've attached some of my favorite pics of "Sandy" who now goes by the name of "Janet." We chose the name Janet as a tribute to Janet Jackson--no joke. We originally sought out Janet to be a companion for our beagle, Lyle. As the pictures show, the two have become inseparable. When they're not wrestling or chasing each other around the house, they're curled up for a solid snuggle. In the few months that we've had her, Janet has become an integral part of our family and I can barely remember what life was like without her. We are so grateful to FCHS for all that you do to match dogs with the perfect foster family.

Thank you!
Ben

Nina PDF Print E-mail

Nina Update!

Nina will be about 1 year in June and is around 45lbs!!! Definitely not what we thought she was going to be as she is almost double what we thought. She is a very smart dog, sweet and friendly. She wouldn't hurt a fly. When we go on walks she alwaysgetscompliments on how well behaved and how beautiful she is. At the moment we are practicing walking without a lead and she is doing pretty well. I think her age gets the best of her as she can get pretty distracted with all the noises, smells and other animals running around. The picture where I am holding her was taking in the late fall. I can't pick her up any more :(

Hope you are well!
Jessica

Update on Woody

I thought I would "check in" with you and let you know how wonderful my little Woody is doing. He has truly settled into his new home with his new family. He loves the dogs and they love him, you should see them all play together; jumping on each other and running through the house. You truly are a blessing to all the animals you help give a second chance to life. Without the giving you do, who knows (even though we do know) what would become of so many more. I really can't stop thanking you for Woody, he has made my husband so happy even though he didn't want another cat after his passed away. He really loves Woody and Woody sits with him just as much as he sits with me. He runs to the door when we come home just like the dogs.

Best regards,
Donna
