In order to qualify, you must be a Franklin County Resident and show proof of financial need (please include a copy of eligibility which can be one of the following:

1. Medicaid Card (adult, not child)
2. WIC Card (current date)
3. Letter granting Social Security Income (adult, not child) *Note– SS income is NOT a qualification, unless SS is your only income by providing last year’s tax return or last three bank statements showing deposit of SS I check.
4. EBT (food stamp) Card with photo ID & food store receipt dated within previous 3 weeks.
5. IRS Form 1040 showing income levels les than the limits below:

1 Person Household-$17,960

2 person houselhold-$24,240

3 person household-$27468

4 person household-$33,120

5+ person household-$34,464

6. Letter explaining special circumstances and need for assistance

You must have subsidy approval before an appointment will be scheduled. Along with supporting documents will be required and can be faxed to (252) 478-6089. We will contact you when we have processed your application and will schedule your appointment at that time. Please allow 10 business days.

For those who do not qualify for the Humane Society sponsored program, may contact SNAP (Spay & Neuter Assistance Program) for other low cost spay and neuter options. Call for an appointment 783-7627 or visit their website www.snap-nc.org.
